Hi there! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I'm Kacie. I am a mama, photographer, actress, lover of food, design, movies and art. I started A Collection of Passions on my 27th birthday because I desperately needed a space to express my creativity. You can read my manifesto post here if you'd like to! Suffice to say, I was struggling until I realized that, when I am pursuing creative endeavors and passions on a daily basis, I feel content, happy and fulfilled. I decided to start this blog to chronicle my journey through the pursuit of daily passion, creativity and joy in my life. I hope that my journey has and will continue to inspire others to the pursuit of passion in their own lives.
Here on this blog I will share with you: my adventures in motherhood, as a photographer, as an actress and avid movie watcher, my recipes and my love of cooking, my love of daily style and high fashion, my attempts in home decorating, wonderful weekends with our friends and family, our experiences traveling, inspiration, silly things, interviews with people I find inspiring and more. Kyle: My wonderful husband, an amazing brewer and the more logical half of our team.
Gwyneth: Our beautiful baby girl, provider of comic relief and an endless amount of joy. She joined us on New Year's Eve (after a long pregnancy) and we can't imagine our lives without her. I post a ridiculous number of photos of her, quite often they are gratuitous.
Dave and Erika: Kyle's folks, often referred to as "the best in-laws ever".
Mom and Mike: My Mama and her boyfriend Mike. My Mom means the world to me, she is an amazing teacher, painter and pursuer of joy and Mike is a wonderful friend.
Dad and Nance: My Dad and Stepmom, they are creative, fun and keep us laughing when we need it most.
Meghan and Rob: My amazing sister and her husband. My sis is my best friend. She is so supportive, inspiring and fabulous. She is a wonderful photographer and loves to travel. Her husband Rob is a kick ass guitar teacher and he's funny and kind too!
Ryan and Kaylee: Ryan is my twin brother, he is a musician and videographer. He is sincere, cheeky and likes to drop in unexpectedly (a lot).
Poppy: Gwyneth's "big sis", I have been nannying this little pop-tart since she was one and she is truly a part of our family. She's the bees knees and she says very silly things.
Grandpa: My Gramps. He is a great man, he gives great bear hugs and always says I love you.
Nana: Kyle's Nana, she is an amazing knitter, lover of old movies and is always a pleasure to have a cup of tea with (but watch out 'cause she will kick your ass at Scrabble).
Marion and Nina: My best friend and her cheeky daughter. Marion is an amazing mom, friend and lover of wine. She's expecting baby number two very soon!
Nancy: Nancy (also known as Nan to Gwynnie) is an amazing friend who has been like a mom to me in many ways.
Danelle: My best friend in town. She is a pilates instructor and a wonderful friend.
Jeremy and Tara: Jeremy has been a friend of ours since high school. He and his leading lady, Tara, are always a blast to hang out with.
Greg, Sondi and Ella: Our good friends who love food, beer and babies as much as we do.
Last but not least...
Calypso: Our funny little cat. She enjoys sleeping, eating and being frisky.
