  5. Jami, Thanks!

Amber, It’s the Stenstorp island from IKEA (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00116996/) They were hard to get but it looks like you can get it online too if they don’t have it in your store.

Angela, Awesome. Good luck. It’s so worth all the work!

    Bee, Hee hee. Thanks.

  6. I found your site through YHL and this is already my second comment. I loved reading all of your posts about your daughter. My husband and I are trying to have our first and I took lots of mental notes while reading, especially about the things you all found useful. I love that you wrote your daughter e-letters and now I plan to do that when I am pregnant with my first. What a great thing for her to be able to go back and read when she gets older. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to following your blog. :)

  7. Love your new kitchen! We live in Portland and are wanting to redo our kitchen as well. I have a few questions for you! How are the Ikea cabinets? Do you love them? I also love the edison lightbulbs. Do they give off much light? Great work and your daughter is adorable!

  8. Lindsey, Thanks! I love the cabinets. They are sturdy, well made, have soft-close (so they don’t slam), they were easy to install, and they look like they cost a lot more than they did. The edison bulbs don’t give off a lot of light but they look so nice. The chandelier (from Anthro) was only $300 and we got the bulbs on Amazon for around $6. It’s my favorite thing in the kitchen. Cherry on top. You can get different wattage (but make sure it works with your fixture).

  10. I’m the Zoë on YHL who commented that you and I share the same brain when it comes to kitchens. I love everything about this redo. Can’t wait to see the subway tile backsplash.

  11. Hi Zoë. That was so funny. We are planning to do it soon! We bought long and skinny ones, 8×2 so they will hopefully look really cool! =)

  12. I just saw your post on YHL. I absolutely ADORE your new kitchen!!!! My husband and I just finished our IKEA kitchen about a month ago. Can you believe how good it feels to be done with that big process? We went with IKEA as well and I could not have been happier. Anyway, love your blog! and congratulations on such an amazing kitchen!
